Guidance for Using Hashtags (#)

In addition to using the #SafeSleepSnap hashtag, be sure to include hashtags that are most relevant for your community. We selected the following example hashtags because of their relevance and their popularity across Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

On Facebook

Posts with one or two hashtags tend to get the most engagement. You can replace the hashtags in the example posts with ones that are more appropriate for your audience or organization.

Examples include: #SafeSleep, #InfantSafety, #SafeInfantSleep, #NewParents, #NewDad, #NewMom, #PreppingForBaby, #NewGrandma, #NewGrandpa, #NewGrandparent, #InfantCaregiver, #newborn, #NewBaby, #MomLife, #DadLife, #SleepTraining, #BackIsBest, and #postpartum.

On Instagram

Instagram has a limit of 30 hashtags per post. Using around 11 hashtags in a post increases engagement. You can replace hashtags in the example posts with ones that are more appropriate for your audience or organization.
